The duty station for this position will be a home-based worksite or other non-HUD owned space anywhere within the 50 mile commuting area of HUD's Washington, DC office.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
As a/an Equal Employment Specialist, you will:
Serve as a subject matter expert knowledge on EEO laws, regulations, court decisions and issues related to the Federal EEO program and other complaints and appeals programs in order to review and analyze discrimination complaint cases that are extremely difficult, controversial, and precedent setting; deal effectively with complaints processing problems
Independently comprehend and analyzes complex EEO complaints
Implement new methods to solve problems where established methods and procedures are not applicable or are unavailable.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-13 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
-Applying Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws, regulations, policies, procedures; AND
-Preparing and submitting reports and correspondence in accordance with MD-110.; AND
-Conducting training regarding the interpretation and implementation of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and other nondiscrimination laws.Specialized Experience:
For the GS-14 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
-Reviewing MD-715 and Reports of Investigation (ROIs) and any relevant documents to timely prepare legally sufficient grammatically correct, final decisions based on federal regulations, laws, and policies pursuant to MD-110; AND
-Briefing supervisors, management and staff on a variety of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) issues, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) matters and any case law or statues that may impact the agency or organization.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
