Duties

Serves as Lead Inventory Management Specialist (Procurement) in Army Materiel Command (AMC). The Lead Inventory Management Specialist (Procurement) is responsible for personnel advocating for the parts and support contracts to ensure contract support for all reported supply demands in light of the Supply Chain Organization. Serves as the central point of contact and technical advisor for subject matter material category (MATCAT) procurement actions, issues, and the exchange of information between personnel on the assigned team. Monitors team coordination with the Weapons System Directorate, Supply Planners, and Contract Center operations to facilitate the continuous improvement of the dependent demand forecast accuracy and due-in accuracy. Intervene when Procurement Coordinators on team need additional support, training, or top-cover to accomplish the necessary actions to ensure that supply support needs are addressed in a timely manner. Supports Branch Chief to execute organizational requirements to keep employees engaged and efficient. Leads working level commodity reviews and Sales and Operations Planning meetings with other supply chain functions, sustainment teams, and Contract Centers to review supply plans, collect additional data, and assess performance. Develops guides used by personnel within the organization when guidelines for performing the work.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Security clearance required.
  • This position has a Data Analytics requirement. The incumbent must meet all requirements for Data Analytics level one (1) certification within 12 months of being placed on the position.

Experience analyzing technical issues for procurement actions to advise on solutions; Coordinate with supply partners to ensure supply support needs are addressed in a timely manner; Review supply plans in order to collect data and assess performance; Assist with facilitating the continuous improvement of demand forecast accuracy and due in accuracy. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. The pay band NH-03 includes the General Schedule grade equivalent to GS-12 step 1 to GS-13 step 10.
