This position is located in the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). The mission of OFCCP is to enforce, for the benefit of job seekers and wage earners, the contractual promise of affirmative action and equal employment opportunity required of those who do business with the Federal government. This position is inside the bargaining unit.

Duties

Additional selections may be made from this announcement. This position covers the San Jose, CA territory/jurisdiction and are expected to travel to the San Jose, CA area for compliance evaluations, complaint investigations and compliance assistance/outreach activities. Major Duties:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Requires a probationary period if the requirement has not been met.
  • Candidate required to obtain the necessary security/investigation level.
  • Appointment to this position may require a background investigation.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. IN DESCRIBING YOUR EXPERIENCE, PLEASE BE CLEAR AND SPECIFIC. WE WILLNOT MAKE ASSUMPTIONS REGARDING YOUR EXPERIENCE. POSITION TITLES ALONE CANNOT BE USED TO DETERMINE IF YOU ARE QUALIFIED. PLEASE LIST DATES IN MM/DD/YYYY FORMAT. THIS IS IMPERATIVE IN DETERMINING IF WHETHER YOU HAVE AT LEAST 1 YEAR OF CREDITABLE SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE. DATES WILL NOT BE ASSUMED. GS-11: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-09, in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Investigating, analyzing, and evaluating an organization's equal opportunity and/or compliance program in accordance with federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or policies. Experience using interview and investigative techniques to conduct compliance evaluations, construct reviews and/or complaint investigations. Experience investigating programs that prohibit federal contractors/subcontractors from workplace discrimination. And/or Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. And/or Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education that provided the knowledge's, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. And/or Successful completion of a LL.M that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. And/or A combination of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in or related to the work of this position and graduate level education that provided the specific knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. GS-12: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-11, in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as: Investigating, analyzing, and evaluating an organization's equal opportunity compliance program in accordance with federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or policies. Experience investigating programs that prohibit federal contractors/subcontractors from workplace discrimination. Experience investigating and adjudicating discrimination complaints related to civil rights violations. Experience supporting litigation actions relating to resolution of compliance, equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, diversity and/or compliance complaints.
