This position is in the office of the Executive Director (EX) for the Office of Inspector General (OIG). IT Operations focuses on ensuring mission-centric approach to IT operations focused on customer service, collaboration and innovation.
Duties
As an Information Technology (IT) Specialist (APPSW/INFOSEC) your primary function will be to serve as OIG's Information Technology Specialist responsible for administering the software that has been developed for use in carrying out a variety of functions in support of the operations for the OIG.

Qualifications

NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement.
Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.
Time-in-grade documentation: If you are applying for a higher grade and your SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you meet the 1-year time-in-grade requirement so you will need to provide an SF-50 which clearly demonstrates you meet the time-in-grade requirements (examples of appropriate SF-50s include Promotions, Within-grade Grade/Range Increases, and SF-50s with an effective date more than one year old).
Applicants applying for the GS-14 grade level must meet the following requirements: Have IT-related experience demonstrating EACH of the four competencies AND specialized experience listed below:
Attention to Detail- Attention to detail in reviewing technical adequacy of Office of Inspector General audits reports that deal with information management, information security, telecommunications, and information warfare.
Customer Service- Ability to provide expert technical advice to management and auditors so that reviews and audits covering information technology can be conducted.
Oral Communication- Knowledge and skill in oral communication in order to giver briefings, exchange information, provide expert advice, and to influence and persuade managers, and senior level officials to implement findings and recommendations provided in reports.
Problem Solving- Ability to solve problems associated with infrastructure protection programs, computer system weaknesses such as network/web vulnerabilities configuration management problems, and critical infrastructure protection deficiencies, and make recommendation to improve existing programs.
AND
Have at least 1 full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience in developing policies and procedures relating primarily to software applications; information technology security concepts, standards, and methods and design,
Experience developing, and managing software applications, to enhance this software, and to manage assigned projects.
Experience finding solutions for, and resolves trouble calls or calls for assistance involving software (or other problems) received personally and/or through the help desk.
Experience organizing and presenting training to staff on the operation and use of specific applications software.
Experience in managing the entire software developer lifecycle for Microsoft SQL server databases and applications hosted in this environment.
In order to qualify for this position, your experience MUST be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT Certification) as appropriate. All experience and certifications must be listed in your resume. There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position.
