Duties
Sells documents, maps, books, records, firewood and Christmas tree cutting permits, Golden Age Passports, Recreation Permits, Forest passes, and other similar permits and materials.
Coordinates and assembles material to present resource-oriented education and information programs to schools, service clubs, civic organizations.
May assist in conducting periodic audits to ensure proper reconciliation of funds. Assists in the operations of the Dockets Room to perform records maintenance and track serialized case files.
Orders and maintains inventories for publications for sale and public distribution.

At the GS-05 Level: Have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to (GS-04) in the Federal service. Specialized experience is further defined as: Accomplishing routine support tasks in a busy office environment, providing routine information to the public and internal customers by phone, email, and in person, preparing written correspondence using automations systems, maintaining files and related materials; -OR- Have completed 4 years of education above high school in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the prerequisite. I will provide a copy of my college transcript; -OR- Have an equivalent combination of the experience and education described above. NOTE: only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours of study i.e., beyond the second year, is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirements. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year, is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.
At the GS-06 Level: Have 1 year of specialized experience, equivalent to (GS-05) in the Federal service. Specialized experience is further defined as: experience that includes answering internal and external inquiries for complex and detailed information; preparing written correspondence; provide assistance to employees and the general public; researching laws, regulations and policies; and maintaining records and files.
At the GS-07 Level: Have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent (GS-06) in the Federal service. Specialized experience is further defined as: experience that includes answering internal and external inquiries for complex and detailed information; preparing written correspondence with complex subject matter; providing on-the-job training and user assistance to employees and the general public; researching laws, regulations and organizational policies; and maintaining sensitive information, records and files.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement.
Physical Demands: The work involves sitting and standing, typically in a public room environment. Moderate lifting of plats and public information documents may be required.
Work Environment: Work is performed in an office building that requires normal safety precautions.

This position allows for education to be substituted for specialized experience at the GS-05 grade level only (see qualification section for education requirements).
