This position is in the Economic Development Administration's (EDA) Office of the Assistant Secretary (OAS), directly advising and supporting the Director of the Good Jobs Challenge (GJC) Program.
Duties
As a Management and Program Analyst in the GJC program you will be responsible for:
Providing direct oversight and technical assistance to one-third of Good Jobs Challenge' s (GJC) 32 awardees.
Ensuring the GJC's program's investments are on track to reach their key milestones while tracking compliance and risk.
Serving as subject matter expert to Good Jobs Challenge measurement and evaluation partner.
Engaging policy experts, practitioners, workforce funders, and federal partners in the field to advance the GJC's team's learning agenda and deepen collective technical expertise.
Coordinating across GJC's grantees to capture best practices in workforce development and to facilitate peer learning and connection among grantees.
Planning, developing, and managing execution of communication strategies to grow awareness and support for the program.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.
To qualify at the GS-13 level: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as:
- Implementing workforce development programs;
- Providing guidance to customers through compliance and/or reporting mechanism;
- Developing written briefs and/or memos on grant activities; and
- Developing and/or implementing processes.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
