This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), Federal Record Center Program. The mission of the Federal Records Centers Program is to safeguard the nation's records by maintaining facilities that are fully compliant with regulations that protect records from fire, theft, pests, water damage and natural disasters, and developing state-of-the-art technology to meet Federal agencies' needs for electronic records management in the digital era.

As an Archives Technician, you will:
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
This position requires candidates' to pass a Physical Abilities Test. The work is performed in a warehouse setting, on loading docks or in records storage areas where physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing 15' pulpit ladders, and lifting boxes of records weighing 30-50 lbs. is required. The work requires common physical abilities.
AND
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: For the GS-04, you must have one year of general experience which includes progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
OR
You may substitute education for general experience as follows:2 years of education above high school.
OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education.
