Duties
Serving as a Training Technician (Testing and Evaluation) GS-1702-8/9 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in the eLearning and Evaluation Branch (EEB), eLearning and Training Analytics Division (ETA) under the Training Management Operations (TMO) Directorate and located in Glynco, GA.
The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the planning and design, and participating in conducting, analyzing, and reporting a wide-variety of training related evaluation projects and activities. Typical duties include:
Applying research and evaluation principles, theories, techniques, and methodologies in the execution of this major duty area.
Providing professional, technical guidance and assistance to agency personnel involved in conducting training related evaluation activities.
Coordinating a master testing scheduling calendar to support all basic and advanced programs.

For GS-09:
You qualify for the GS-09 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-08 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as: 1) Analyzing the effectiveness of training research programs; 2) Utilizing qualitative and quantitative systems approaches to develop training course and programs; 3) Determining program priorities in order to accomplish various types of work across multiple locations; 4) Establishing and/or maintaining test development and delivery capabilities for the agency's training programs.
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
For GS-08:
You qualify for the GS-08 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as: 1) Developing solutions to operational issues related to student testing; 2) Ensuring fair and accurate testing through reviewing training schedules and syllabi to ensure the proper material has been covered; 3) Responding to questions from test administrators and instructors in accordance with applicable policy, regulation, and procedures.
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.
