The mission of the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration's (TIGTA) Office of Investigations is to protect the Internal Revenue Service from internal and external threats and corruption that could negatively impact the IRS' ability to administer the nation's tax laws.

Duties

This position is located at Office of the Inspector General for Tax Admin,Office of Investigations- Deputy Inspector General for Investigations. As a Training Technician, you will provide a wide range of support to the assigned (permanent and visiting) staff of the TIGTA OI Training Academy. The following are the duties of this position at the GS-11. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As a Training Technician, you will: Provide support to the ASAC Training Team in all phases of assessing, planning, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating training efforts and initiatives for OI. Perform administrative duties necessary for the scheduling, coordination, and delivery of the training programs, such as compiling and verifying schedules and rosters, preparing class files, and maintaining a computer bank of exam questions. Work with program managers; discuss specific training program needs or requirements for program revisions; identify, analyze, and define facilities and instructional requirements and sequencing issues for the proposed curriculum changes; and review and assess each training program's use of facilities for instructional purposes based on anticipated volume of operations and on known or potential changes in functions, workflow, or instructional availability.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-09, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service.Specialized Experience for this position includes: Providing clerical support for an office. (i.e. scheduling, inventory management, maintaining electronic files, travel arrangements or training procedures); OR Researching, updating and coordinating training material and handouts for target audience based on predetermined needs; OR Participating in conducting training or facilitating training; OR Experience with computer software applications to analyze data or generate reports. OR You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows: You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Masters or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D. if related. OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions. Only graduate education in excess of 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be used in combination with experience.

Education

The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the OPM instructions.
