About the Position: Serves as the Department of the Army, DCS G-3/5/7, Protection Division Insider Threat (InT) Policy Analyst for developing and coordinating policy for the Protection Division and external Insider Threat stakeholders.
Duties
Plan and carry out projects to provide management-related services on a variety of complex interrelated issues.
Coordinate evolving policy requirements and guidance for InT with other HQDA elements (e.g. G-2, OPMG).
Plan, coordinate, and/or implement policy and actions to address overall development and sustainment of mission and objective.
Identify and develop ways to resolve problems or cope with issues that affect the accomplishment of goals and objectives.
Conduct fact-finding analysis of issues surrounding the matter at hand to identify and clarify problems or relevant issues.
Assess alternative approaches to resolving issues and apply mastery knowledge of a wide range of analytical methods to assess effectiveness of programs assigned.
Ensure emerging concepts and doctrine are in consonance with Army and Joint InT policy.
Exercise sound judgment and provide advice, guidance, and authoritative consultation throughout the organization on matters pertaining to InT policy.
Serve as the point of contact for HQDA review of and input on new and revised InT policy.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position may require the incumbent to travel temporary duty travel (TDY) up to 25% of the time.
- Personnel must pass drug screening prior to hiring and will be subject to periodic and random drug testing, thereafter, in accordance with AR 600-85 and Department of Defense Directive 2010.9.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: assisting in the development of policies impacting insider threat programs; coordinating with internal and external stakeholders on insider threat policies; and conducting briefings to senior leaders on programs such as insider threat programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
