About the Position: This Supervisory Physical Security Specialist position is located in Fort Belvoir, VA.
Fort Belvoir is approximately 15 miles southwest of Washington, D.C., five miles from Alexandria, VA and next door to the community of Mount Vernon, VA.
Duties
Conducts comprehensive review and analysis of installation physical security plans and survey reports for compliance with existing policies and procedures.
Responsible for developing and implementing the physical security portion of the Garrison Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) program.
Collects and analyzes the physical security requirements from the Garrison and all tenant/partner activities.
Advises the Directorate Director, installation staff directors, and security representatives of tenant/partner organizations on Fort Belvoir, of security deficiencies that would impact the security posture of the Garrison and their organizations
Directs work and monitors the performance of employees in accomplishing the assigned workload.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience: assisting in planning, developing, and executing projects or programs related to physical security; coordinating investigations related to security violations; and preparing briefings in order to advise personnel regarding security issues and recommendations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12)
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
