Duties
As a THEATER AEROSPACE OPERATIONS COMMAND AND CONTROL TECHNICIAN, GS-2101-09, as a trainer you will administer prepared lesson plans from standard formats to ANG military AOC Weapons System Specialists. Instruct specific courses in all AOC phases of operations. Document required training records. Maintain technical familiarity of equipment assigned to the AOC weapons systems and its interface with applicable U.S. and allied aircraft, space weapons systems, search and rescue, theater missile defense, and air tasking order development and execution. Maintain positional certification commensurate with their applicable AFSC and successfully complete all rectification required by MAJCOM guidance. Perform administrative tasks in either of the following Air Operations Group program support functional areas: Combat Plans/ATO Production: Utilize integral knowledge of all aspects of ATO production and generation, supports all functional areas responsible for the production of the daily tasking order as well as its dissemination. Combat Operations: Support the collection, review, and dissemination of data on tactics and employment techniques for all weapons systems (friendly and enemy). Perform other duties as assigned.
As a THEATER AEROSPACE OPERATIONS COMMAND AND CONTROL TECHNICIAN, GS-2101-11, you will as a certified trainer, administer refresher and advanced training to ANG military AOC weapons systems positional specialists. Interview assigned enlisted AOC personnel to determine operational background in their respective weapons systems/specialties. Assist in the planning and development of instruction on AOC operations skills. Project enlisted unit training requirements. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all technical aspects of equipment assigned to the AOC weapons systems and its interface with applicable U.S. and allied, aircraft, space weapons systems, search and rescue, theater missile defense and air tasking order development and execution. Support and assist the development of briefings and mission preparations including: combat planning, weather factors, mission objectives, and other agency coordination to ensure effective mission execution. Perform administrative tasks in any of the following Air Operations Group program support functional areas: Training/Evaluation: Assists in the design and coordination of comprehensive training plans and scenarios to provide realistic technical AOC training. Combat Plans: Assists in the interpretation, coordination and conduct of planning and execution of higher headquarters' contingency and exercise campaign guidance; operational plan (OPLAN) and air operations order (OPORD) development; provides technical expertise in ATO generation and distribution; airspace command and control (C2). Combat Operations: Assists in the collection, review and dissemination of data on tactics and employment techniques for all weapons systems (friendly and enemy). Interface Control: Manages all technical aspects of datalink interfaces in order to provide and accurate and consolidated air picture in the AOC. Airspace Management: Responsible for integrating all allocated airspace for a given theater of operations, both CONUS and OCONUS. AMD Air Refueling: Exercises responsibility for the planning and execution of Air Refueling missions required to support air campaign plan. Perform other duties as assigned.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training interpreting, explaining, and/or applying a variety of regulations and procedures. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
GS-09 - Must have at least 24 months experience, education, or training in mission planning for preflight, in-flight, ground or command and control (C2) duties according to specific transportation functions. Receives, interprets, extracts, and disseminates relevant data for mission planning or execution. Experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems.
GS-11 - Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training routine and non-routine preflight, in-flight, post-flight, ground or command and control (C2) duties according to specific transportation functions. Receives, interprets, extracts, and disseminates relevant data for mission planning or execution. Experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems.
QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.
