Duties
This position is in the Economic Development Administration's Office of the Assistant Secretary (OAS), directly supporting the Program Lead for the Build Back Better Regional Challenge (BBBRC).As a Management and Program Analyst (BBRC) you will be responsible for:
Providing direct oversight to one-third of BBBRC 's $1 billion grant portfolio, comprising 7 regional coalitions.
Ensuring the BBBRC program's investments are on track to reach their key milestones while tracking compliance and risk.
Collaborating with EDA Regional Office staff to provide best-in-class grant management support and customer service.
Coordinating across BBBRC coalitions to capture best practices in regional economic development and to facilitate peer learning and connection among grantee teams.
Engaging policy experts, practitioners and federal partners in the field to advance the BBBRC team's learning agenda and deepen collective technical expertise.
Planning, developing, and managing execution of communication strategies to grow awareness and support for the program. Lead ecosystem-building with policy experts, practitioners, and other funders focused on regional economic development in the United States.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify at the GS-13 level: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as:
Implementing, designing or researching economic development strategies or policies, with a focus on regional and/or place-based initiatives.
Developing written briefs and memos for leadership detailing key grant activities or summarizing regional economic development topics.
Engaging with diverse sets of stakeholders, across public and/or private and civic spheres. Leading or supporting outreach and engagement activities for regional development.
Measuring and evaluating the effectiveness of regional economic development strategies and investments, either with quantitative or qualitative methods.
