The primary purpose of this position is to provide direction/guidance in the execution of compliance related work and in working with CORs (Contracting Officer Representatives) in the development of contracts within Facilities Management to ensure that contract actions address actions or issues that may affect Facilities aspects of the hospitals compliance program.

Major duties include but not limited to: Accountable in providing direction/guidance in the execution of compliance related work and in working with Construction officers in the development of contracts within Facilities Management. Comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of accrediting bodies (both internal and external) as well as applicable VA Polices and Federal laws. Analyze precious inspection reports from a variety of sources to identify areas of consistent weakness to proactively address any shortcomings. Responsible for developing and instituting preventive maintenance requirements for equipment related to the compliance program through analysis of compliance directives and requirements, manufacture recommendations/specifications, laws and regulations. Developing and implementing/updating local policies; defining administrative requirements, and or providing advice to top management on related issues. Extensive knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods with a through understanding of how regulatory or enforcement programs are administered to select and apply appropriate evaluation. Responsible for ensuring the service line receives status reports and ad vises supervisors of any specific areas that need additional attention. Prepare and maintain reports for compliance programs. Maintaining the repository of records for the service and ensures that action items are completed in a timely matter. Ensuring all compliance findings and recommendations are based upon analysis of work observations, review of safety records or similar documentation, research, studies and applications standards. Preparing reports for service line, supervisor, and or hospital leadership and other service chiefs for action. Experience and Knowledge in compliance regulatory procedures. Knowledge of full range of inspecting, accreditation to include Joint Commission, Office of Safety Health Environment,, Green environmental management, OSHA, and all internal VA evaluation and Office of the Inspector General investigations. Interacts personally on a daily basis with many members of the administrative and clinical staff at the Medical Center. Attends all accreditation related meetings requiring a Facilities team representative. Responsible for increasing the effectiveness of the facilities organization by ensuring that it remains compliant with all applicable regulatory and compliance standards. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/29/2024. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-11 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would includes: serves as subject matter expert for regulatory compliance, analyzes inspection reports to proactively address potential issues, develops and institutes preventative maintenance requirements, establishes and maintains documentation system for compliance programs; serves on committees in support of compliance. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: Analytical ThinkingCommunicationsComplianceOrganizational Awareness Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The work will involve standing, sitting, and walking. Travel to facility campus and to other facilities within the VISN may occasionally be necessary. Most activities will be performed at a computer terminal.
