Duties

Interprets information to determine the quality and relevance of information to be used for decision-making. Ensures proper balance of funds are distributed to support mission requirements. Analyzes trends in fund utilization, and prepares status reports depicting causes for major deviations from programmed targets. Provides analytical services to support the formulation, justification, presentation, enactment, and execution stages of the budget process for contracts. Investigates and/or recommend day-to-day adjustments when unusual accounting problems arise. Serves as the subject matter expert and Program Coordinator for the Government Purchase Card (GPC) Program. Provides direction and oversight as the Organizational Defense Travel System (DTS) Administrator (ODTA)

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position. Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all requirements of this certification program.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience using accounting and/or financial management processes to prepare detailed analyses and estimates of annual funding and cost management needs; utilizing information systems for cost management; gathering information to determine projected costs of current and future programs; and resolving problems of effectiveness and efficiency of operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or equivalent). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
