You will serve as a Contract Specialist in the Military Sealift Command (MSC), Directorate, Maritime Operations (N10), Contracts and Business Management Department (N105), Ship Operations Support Division (N105). of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.
Duties
You will serve as the Division Director, Ship Operations Support Division, responsible for management, planning, execution of Department of the Navy and Military Sealift Command vessel Operations.
You will manage execution of procurement operations related to vessel Operations.
You will prepare Division and Command briefings for the Commander, United States Transportation Command and Commander, Military Sealift Command for both internal and external audiences.
You will perform other duties as assigned.
You will review and approves travel orders and travel vouchers in DTS.
You will hear and resolve group grievances or serious employee complaints.
You will review and approve serious disciplinary actions (e.g. suspensions) involving supervisory and non-supervisory subordinates.
Requirements

- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.

Qualifications
For GS-15: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience evaluating cost, price and financial analysis.
- Experience performing within ship maintenance and repair procedures will operating in the constrictions of industry requirements.
- Experience working within a fast-paced environment implementing negotiation techniques to conduct contract discussions and manage high level business transactions as it relates fulfilling maritime, industrial needs as well as interacting with Government officials.

Education
Applicants must meet the following Basic Education Requirement of the Department of Defense Qualification Standard for Contracting Positions:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
NOTE: The education requirement listed above applies only to individuals entering DoD GS-1102 positions on or after October 1, 2000. Current civilian personnel in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000 are exempt from meeting this requirement. Current military members who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent) 1102 or before September 30, 2000 are also exempt from meeting this requirement. Applicants currently in the Contingency Contracting Force are also exempt from meeting this requirement.
