Duties

In-depth Knowledge of Maintenance Automation Systems (GCSS-A and AESIP) Knowledge of synchronizing support requirement for Maintenance Operations. Responsible for all equipment maintenance functions pertaining to Army equipment, Special Operations Forces-peculiar equipment, and other equipment as assigned. Provide technical advice and develops plans for equipment maintenance management programs from field maintenance through sustainment level maintenance.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • TDY travel is occasionally required 20%.
  • Must possess and maintain a current and valid state driver's license.
  • This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) synchronizing logistics requirements necessary to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance operations; 2) provide management responsibility for all equipment maintenance functions pertaining to assigned equipment; 3) Provide recommendations in the operational readiness of tactical wheeled vehicles, ground equipment, foreign and domestic weapons, construction and engineer equipment, troop support equipment, communications/electronic equipment, GSA vehicles and watercraft. 4) Maintain various sustainment platforms such as Army Enterprise Systems Integration Program (AESIP), develop courses of action for concept of support briefs, capture sustainment statistical data utilizing automated systems such as the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A); 5) Experience in conducting inspections of training and sustainment units. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Information Technology, Educational Technology. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
