This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for complete responsibility and authority to plan, schedule, adjust or modify, as appropriate, and carry out the complete development of major joint doctrine projects assigned to the incumbent's portfolio.

Duties

As a MANAGEMENT AND PROGRAM ANALYST at the GS-0343-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Reviewing publications and develops directives to provide policies and procedures for the submission, review, control, and management of projects. Leading Working Groups, Conferences or Councils and conducts reviews of assigned joint, and projects with approved joint doctrine criteria and policies. Overseeing the assembly of all necessary background material for use during meetings and conferences. Implementing the policy and procedural guidance required for accomplishing daily activities. Presenting official briefs on emerging and published doctrinal concepts and materials. Preparing doctrinal summaries, status reports, and briefings/training aids for use in conferences, classes, and briefings.

  • This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the civilian drug-testing program.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Composing doctrine development by preparing and communicating plans, reports, joint doctrine, correspondence, and other publications to provide clear and concise information and guidance; Applying a wide range of analytical methods and techniques to conduct assessments to identify and propose solutions to analytical issues/problems that have major impact on the organization; Developing new techniques, detailed plans, goals, policies, operating guidance, and objectives for projects, studies and analysis to facilitate policy across the organization; Preparing briefing materials, doctrinal summaries, status reports, and briefings/training aids for use in conferences, classes, and briefings. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
