About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command, Security Resiliency Activity ACOFS, G-2.

Duties

Serve as the primary Personnel Security Specialist for matters pertaining to program management in the Personnel Security Division, Assistant Chief of Staff for Security (ACofS, G-2). Perform a full range of moderately difficult functional security duties and assignments as they pertain to Personnel Security Program oversight and management. Perform a wide variety of security administration functions which include but are not limited to: managing the security data base; preparing and maintaining security and incident report related rosters.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully compete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) when required and on a periodic basis thereafter.
  • TDY Travel may be required approximately 10% or more of the time.
  • This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program. (See additional information)

This definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade Level position in the Federal Service (GG/GS-11). Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
