About the Position: Serves as mission support specialist, for MEDCoE G-3/5/7 Operations and Readiness, reporting directly to the G-3/5/7 Deputy Chief. Directs, and coordinates the efforts of a professional operations staff of various subject matter specialists with primary responsibility for providing organizational mission support and developing policy for administrative and operational procedures.
Duties
Formulate policies, procedures, and methodologies regarding the G-3/5/7 Mission Integration projects.
Plans and establishes objectives for assigned responsibilities, establishing technical approaches, and developing current and long-range organizational plans.
Reviews and interprets policies, program guidance and objectives relating to assigned responsibilities and translates into operational management methods, systems, and operations.
Manage development and implementation of G-3/5/7 specific policy, direction, oversight, and analysis within the directorates.
Make necessary adjustments, modifications, and revisions to meet objectives, and remains well-informed on current trends, tendencies, developments, and overall status of activities.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the federal service which demonstrates experience working with a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for assessment and improvement of program effectiveness or improvement of complex management processes and systems; maintaining unit operational readiness databases and developing reports and support graphics; developing and implementing policies, program guidance and objectives relating to assigned responsibilities and translating into operational management methods, systems, and operations; evaluating methods and management techniques in order to analyze unit operational readiness and preparedness issues related to command and control, as well as long-range operational planning. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above).
