This position is located at the U.S. Department of Treasury; Departmental Offices (DO); Office of Equal Employment Opportunity. As an Equal Employment Specialist (Reasonable Accommodation Coordinator), you will oversee the agency's involvement with Treasury's Reasonable Accommodation Program (RAP) and the agency's initiatives regarding hiring and placement of individuals with disabilities.
Duties
As an Equal Employment Specialist (Reasonable Accommodation Coordinator), you will:
Provide expert advice and guidance, consultant services and support on all matters related to the coordination of recruiting, employment, career advancement, and training, and retention of employees and applicants with disabilities and assure equal opportunity in all aspects of employment.
Refer EEO discrimination complaints and take appropriate measures to direct complaints to the appropriate equal opportunity office in accordance with regulatory guidelines and procedures.
Respond to Congressional inquiries and other actions/proposals that affect the employment of individuals with disabilities.
Provide overall management of the Reasonable Accommodation Program (RAP) initiatives within the DO.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:For the GS-13 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
-Experience assisting with implementation of an organization's Reasonable Accommodation program.; AND
-Experience applying EEO law and regulations.; AND
-Experience representing an organization in various types of workgroups and meetings.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
