Duties

Perform clerical and administrative tasks to facilitate the work of the office such as correspondence, forms, filing, mail, timekeeping, training coordination, travel authorizations and vouchers, and tracking personnel actions. Serve as receptionist, determining the disposition of most telephone and personal inquiries relative to the overall activities of the office. Complete weekly time and attendance and weekly Labor Reports, reflecting project and accounting codes, hours worked, sick and annual leave used, and overtime worked. Maintain office files according to the Army Record Standards, which requires classifying material into a large number of subject headings and subheadings. Greet the visiting public, and provide assistance and routine information as required.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster).

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60.
