About the Position: Serve as a Project Manager (PM) for assigned projects and/or installation in support of the District's Military/Support for Others (SFO) program.
This announcement maybe used to fill multiple positions at one of the following locations: Fort Shafter, Tripler AMC, Wheeler Army Airfield.
Management may make selection from either grade level, GS-11 or GS-12.
Duties
Control and manage project milestones and budgets from planning through construction and initial operations.
Responsible for the overall coordination and execution of assigned projects and/or installations.
Serve as the District's primary point of contact for projects assigned with customer, Federal, state and local authorities.
Review and analyze cost reports to assure charges are authorized and appropriate; identify unauthorized charges and assure corrective actions are taken for the ultimate disposition of inappropriate charges.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must have or be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a driver's license in one of the 50 US states or possessions and any installation and/or DoD requirement.
- Temporary duty (TDY) travel is approximately 25%.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience for GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) experience providing technical or contract management support to facility design and/or construction projects; and 2) assisting in resolving project issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Specialized Experience for GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) experience performing project management tasks on facility design and/or construction projects; and 2) assisting in the identification, solution development, and resolution of project issues.
