About the Position: Serves as the Pacific Ocean Division technical expert and Senior staff level engineer for the Engineering and Construction Division.
Duties
Manages the Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering and Cybersecurity Programs for the Pacific Ocean Division.
Reviews and interprets specific technical data, criteria and higher headquarters’ policy and regulations and provides overall technical guidance for the Division.
Performs field inspections and evaluates design during and after construction and executes Regional Design and Construction Evaluations (DCEs).
Leads assigned Regional Communities of Practice (CoPs) and serves as the POD representative on national level CoPs to ensure integration of policies and plans within the Region.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary duty (TDY) travel is approximately 20%.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- IAW ER 690-1-1212, Para 6, this position has been determined to require professional registration/licensure as a Professional Engineer or a registered Architect is required for this position.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in the Federal service which includes experience in planning design and construction programs and projects requiring engineering judgment, and quality assurance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
