Primary purpose of position: Deputy Director of Intelligence, Special Operations Command North, subordinate command of U.S. Northern Command and Special Operations Command with the responsibility of assisting and advising Director of Intelligence of SOCNORTH in the execution of the Intelligence responsibilities and in the absence of the Director.

Duties
DUTY 1: Work in conjunction with the Director of Intelligence in planning, organizing, and overseeing the activities of the SOCNORTH Intelligence Directorate in order to achieve organizational goals and customer's needs.
DUTY 2: Participates with the Division Chief in the exercise of supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
DUTY 3: Assist the Intelligence Directorate (J2) providing direction and command integration of intelligence management, threat analysis, forecasting and other analytical methodologies enabling the SOCNORTH Commander to effectively manage mission objectives.
DUTY 4: Serves as the SOCNORTH Resource Manager and Program Manager for the SOCNORTH Blue Force Network.
DUTY 5: Incumbent will also aid in the completion of command and joint staff taskings, including additional duties with J2 equities, as required.

- All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
- Position is designated special-sensitive, incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

- This position has been designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions
This is a GG-14 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-14 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-14 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Having the quality level of experience that demonstrates knowledge of and experience with all-source analysis and production policy, plans and requirements; intelligence training in all-source analytics; development and execution of analyst training program; knowledge and experience in the application of IC tradecraft and analytic standards; and knowledge of the full range of intelligence research and collection methods, techniques, and practices to use multi- source intelligence information systems to capture data in order to make recommendations in developing intelligence capabilities and threat assessments to interpret policy and commit resources. All assignments are received without detailed direction as to the method, scope of treatment, or tasking required for completion. Guidelines consist of broad national-level, DoD, USSOCOM and Intelligence Community regulations, instructions, and directives, which require judgment, flexibility, and initiative to determine applicability. Must be able to resolve problems even where guidelines are lacking. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
Conditions of Employment Continued:
1. This position is emergency-essential. In the event of a crisis situation, the incumbent, or designated alternate, must continue to perform the Emergency-Essential duties until relieved by proper authority. The incumbent or the designated alternate may be required to take part in readiness exercises. This position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization to function effectively. This meets the criteria of an Emergency-Essential position and requires that the incumbent, or the designated alternate, be removed from any military recall status. Employee must sign DD Form 2365 as a condition of employment. Ref: AFI36-129, dated 17 May 2019.
2. A pre-deployment physical examination is required. Selectee must meet requirements specified on SF-78, certificate of Medical Examination for position at overseas/deployed locations due to the following: The duties of this position requires moderate physical exertion involving walking and standing, and exposure to the inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of finger, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip and knee, joints is required. Arms, hands, legs, and feet must be sufficiently good, vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required to perform the duties satisfactorily. Near vision, corrective lenses permitted, must be sufficient to read printed material the size of typewritten characters. Hearing loss, as measured by an audio meter, must not exceed 35 decibels at 1000, 2000, and 3,000 Hz levels. Since the duties of these positions are exacting and responsible and activities under trying conditions, applicants must possess emotional and mental stability. Any physical condition that would cause the applicant to be a hazard to himself/herself or others in disqualifying. The Theater commander may specify theater unique medical/physical deplorability criteria. Emergency Essential deployment related medical/dental psychological examinations and required immunizations are no expense to the employee.
3. E-E employee must perform E-E duties during a crisis or after noncombatants evacuate. Failing to perform assigned E-E duties may result in disciplinary action against the employee up to and including removal from the Federal Service.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Expert knowledge of intelligence doctrine; intelligence intensive, and practical experience of the principles, concepts and methodologies of all-source intelligence analysis, research, and targeting including various databases, systems, and tools. Knowledge of multi-discipline intelligence including HUMINT, SIGINT, OSINT, and ISR.
2. Mastery knowledge of U.S. intelligence community policies, entities, missions, resources, operations, capabilities, databases, and requirements sufficient to perform intelligence research planning, operations collection, systems analysis, and other intelligence collection related activities.
3. Knowledge of US intelligence management, threat analysis, forecasting and other analytical methodologies enabling the SOCNORTH to effectively manage mission objectives.
4. Ability to acquire and administer financial, material, and information resources to accomplish the organization's mission, support program policy objectives, and promote strategic intelligence vision.
5. Ability to plan, organize, direct the functions of a joint organization by mentoring, motivating, and apprising the staff
6. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
