This Program Support Assistant position is located within the Care Management service of the VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System (ECHCS) at Aurora, CO. This position provides administrative support to the Care Management service and all supporting programs to ensure coordination and smooth operation. The incumbent works independently within the goals and objectives set by the Service Chief. The incumbent manages telephone calls, voicemails, and timekeeping for the Service.
Duties
Major duties include but are not limited to:
Plans and establishes office control systems such as those for the control of the location, arrangement, access to, and use of office files.
Within established agency guidelines, acts as a central resource for implementing and maintaining office control systems, such as those for the location, arrangement, access to, and use of office files, and for maintenance, transfer, and disposition of records.
Collects, compiles, and tracks statistical information in support of program operations within the Service.
Documents and reconciles purchase cards use as set forth by VA Handbook 1730.1. Use and Management of Government Purchase Card, dated August 27, 2008.
Manages data and coordination for the Service's program patients and their family members.
Tracks and Maintains individual Time & Leave for the Service.
Verifies Veterans benefits eligibility.
Work Schedule: 6:30am - 3:00pm, Monday - Friday

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/17/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience for the GS-06 grade: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. The employee sits comfortable to do the work assignments. At times there may be some walking, standing, bending and carrying of light items, e.g., papers, books, files, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
