This position serves as the Deputy Chief Data Officer (DCDO) to the Executive Director, Federal Transit Administration (FTA), focusing on all matters related to data assets including data governance, advanced analytics, statistical modeling, data strategy, and machine learning.

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience requirements.
To qualify for the Grade 15, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equal or equivalent to the GS-14, it must include:
Experience isolating, identifying, and recommending data solutions to critical problems affecting organization Data Collection.
Experience planning, organizing, and developing strategies, as well as administering activities related to organization data collection and maintenance.
Experience overseeing large-scale projects that support the full lifecycle of data management activities which include how information is created, stored, shared, and governed within an organization.
Experience advising senior leadership of a Federal Government agency (or other entity) on data matters, and leading or supervising teams conducting work that requires an integrated analysis of data on different operational programs, functions, or systems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Written Communication - Writes in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience.
Computer Skills - Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work.
Data Management and Systems: Uses data management concepts, policies, and practices and implementing and managing solutions with awareness of emerging technologies and techniques in data science and analysis such as advanced analytics, machine learning, and cloud computing and ability to direct and implement advancements into organizational decision support systems and processes.
