You will serve as an OFFICE AUTOMATION CLERK in the COMMAND INFORMATION OFFICE of MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT.

Duties

You will provide Tier I technical assistance to customers. You will assist the customer with initiating a trouble ticket for all technical trouble calls, email, or walk-ins from personnel serviced by the AC/S G-6 that requires service or repair. You will collect detailed information from the customer that enables a technician to provide prompt courteous customer support with the least amount of customer call back. You will monitor the status of the trouble tickets in the system to ensure that the problem is resolved and reports the status to incident manager. You will contact the reporting individual to ensure problem resolution after closing the trouble ticket.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of general experience at or equivalent to the GS-03 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. General experience must demonstrate the following: progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skills question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination. Education

In lieu of general experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of at least two full academic years of education above high school.
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
