You will serve as an Office Automation Assistant in the Fleet Weather Center of NAVAVFCST DET SAN DIEGO CA.

Duties

You will perform office automation work, including word-processing, and a variety of clerical functions in support of the organization's mission and functions. You will determine what information is included in the Plan of the Week and attach links that function properly, including the Naval Base Coronado (NBC) POW to integrate data from various locations to create the Plan of the Week (POW). You will track recurring reports to electronically update the action log located on the intranet for command use. You will incorporate, update, and revise the Administrative Department (N1) Intranet homepage while monitoring and maintaining information and links for maximum performance. You will develop and maintain various spreadsheets, databases, and word processing documents with proper format and manipulate data to create phone lists, social rosters and recall bills. You will prepare varied documents with complex formats, such as brochures, flyers, special reports, and briefings, using the advanced functions of word processing, desktop publishing and other software types.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience performing office automation work, including word-processing, and a variety of clerical functions in support of the organization's mission and functions. Experience clearly and effectively articulating, presenting, and promoting varied ideas and issues (to include sensitive or controversial topics) before a wide range of audiences. Experience utilizing information systems and/or software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, automated research tools, database applications, and the Internet. Experience conveying written information in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience, using correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Experience developing networks, building alliances and collaborating across boundaries to build strategic relationships and achieve common goals.
