This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Supports J35 roles, responsibilities, processes, and tools associated with strategy and planning of joint campaigns, globally integrated operations and dynamic employment of the Joint Force. Assists with strategy and means analysis, risk assessment, and planning focused on Dynamic Force Employment (DFE) as a strategic way to employ Joint Force and achieve global integration across combatant commands (CCMDs).
Duties
As a STRATEGIC FORCE ANALYST at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Managing the review and analysis of defense and military strategy, campaign and contingency planning, and implementation of global integration and dynamic force employment.
Serving as the single point of contact and an authoritative source of advice/information for the division for all matters related to joint operations and strategic planning issues, including cross functional issues across Joint Staff directorates.
Exercising significant independence and authority in dealing with officials of other organizations and in advising management officials at higher levels on a wide range of force planning issues.
Making recommendations involving novel, highly complex, and significant issues that result in major decisions that impact the Joint Force programs, policies, and operations.
Performing complex technical studies/projects for joint campaigns and global force employment with national strategic interest

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
Managing the review and analysis of defense and military strategy, and campaign and contingency planning for global integration and force employment.
Evaluating the effectiveness/efficiency of programs/campaigns/operations as it relates to joint force employment and global integration.
Collaborating with operations, planning, and force management representatives from outside organizations to include Combatant Commands, Services, Combat Support Agencies, and Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
