This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the FASA Branch in its' day-to-day operations of performing analysis and developing integrated reference and solutions architectures for C5I, other warfighting mission areas, and capability development.

Duties

This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) "Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense," dated October 15, 2021. As a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SysAnalysis) at the GS-2210-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Performs analysis and develops integrated reference and solutions architectures for DoD, WMA, Information Environment (IE), and C5I, for Command and Control (C2), Cyber requirements and capabilities development, acquisition and IE compliance. Develops operational nodes, activities, information exchanges and event-trace description views for WMA architectures; develops/assesses DOD WMA capability taxonomies, capability phasing, and capability dependency architecture views for WMA architectures. Uses PPBES to apply a JCIDS analysis approach to the development, review, and analysis of new capabilities under development. Reviews, analyzes, and develops JCIDS capability documents and Information Support Plans (ISPs), supporting architectures and capability requirements for conformance with enterprise and reference architectures, integration, interoperability, performance, cost and schedule. Review and analyze OPLANs, CONPLANS and Joint Strategic Planning Guidance documents for potential architecture solutions. Delivers architecture products, Analysis Reports, Position Papers, Comment Review Matrix (CRMs), other products as required. Performs the duties of a JS Action Officer required to identify a problem, analyze it, identify Courses of Action (COAs) and make recommendations suitable for General Officer/Flag Officer (GO/FO) level.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS 13 , if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service as listed below: Reviewing and analyzing Joint Strategic Planning System, Integrated Priority Lists (IPLs) and Capability Gap Assessments for potential architecture solutions. Performing systems/service analysis to identify, refine and develop capability gaps and potential capability requirements. Advising on the merits and/or shortfalls of proposed requirements, concepts, and policies and make recommendations to correct deficiencies as required Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210, series as listed below: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
