This vacancy is for an IT Specialist (APPSW) located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Deputy Commandant for Mission Support, Office of Data and Analytics (OD&A), Data Analytics Division located in Washington, DC.

Duties
You will serve as an IT Specialist Application Software (APPSW) and be responsible as a subject matter expert on data analytics tools and techniques and as an advisor to the OD&A, USCG lines of business, operational commands and analytics teams on applying data analytics to address challenges within the USCG.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
GS-13 - You qualify if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private sector experience. Specialized experience must include: Developing policies and procedures to support data analysts across the service; analyzing and refining requirements for data analytics application development; ensuring software quality and functionality; determining and designing applications architecture for improved solutions; writing and maintaining program documentation; ensuring application of policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of applications; designing and developing data visualization products to support analytic teams.
IN ADDITON TO THE ABOVE,You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
Education can/cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.
