This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Deputy Commandant for Mission Support (DCMS), Assistant Commandant for Human Resources (CG-1), Director of Reserve and Military Personnel (CG-13), Office of Military Personnel (CG-133), Policy and Standards Division (CG-1331), in Washington, DC.
Duties
As a Supervisory Management and Program Analyst within the Policy and Standards Division, you will formulate policy on all aspects of military personnel management and acts as the Coast Guard's primary representative to joint Service policy working groups sponsored by the DoD Under Secretary of Defense (OSD) for Personnel and Readiness (P&R); regularly serve as an author, reviewer, senior editor, principal process advocate, and adjudicator of policy origination, amendments, and repromulgation of regulation due to Service need or at lifecycle expiration; and supervise one civilian and seven military personnel from Senior Enlisted to a Lieutenant Commander (LCDR).

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
GS-13: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the federal service. Specialized experience at the GS-12 level includes: Conducting complex studies on policies related to improvement of workforce management, and interpretation of data; assisting with the development of Legislative Change Proposals that improve workforce management authorities; and serving as an author for policies and their associated relevancy and lifecycle management.
GS-14: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the federal service. Specialized experience at the GS-13 level includes: Formulating complex programs; conducting complex studies on policies related to improvement of workforce management, and interpretation of data; developing and initiating Legislative Change Proposals that improve workforce management authorities; and serving as a technical author for policies and their associated relevancy and lifecycle management.
Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.

The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
