About the Position: This position is with the 88th Readiness Division, Family Program Regional Office, FPO, located at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.
Duties
Provide referral and follow-up on all areas of Family Programs.
Promotes efficient and effective communication between the command, family readiness group, community resources and family members.
Maintains awareness of issues impacting the families of deployed military personnel.
Coordinate for facilities, speakers, and child-care etc.
Coordinate with community agencies who provide the training.
Demonstrate sensitivity to the diverse needs of mobilized or deployed soldiers and family members.
Provide training and instruction on family program issues.
Assist in the development of call rosters, telephone trees, etc.
Assist with the establishment and maintenance of the unit's Family Readiness Group websites.
Prepare written information such as flyers, letters, calendars, and newsletters.
Perform general office clerical duties.
Update the command on Family Readiness Group activities in order to minimize scheduling conflicts.
Provide assistance to implement and maintain Family support services for family members separated from the military member due to mobilization/deployment or other duty requirements.
Provide administrative assistance to the Commander and Family Readiness Group Leaders.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a Secret Security Clearance.
- This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes communicating with soldiers and their family members; utilizes community resources and social service agencies to aid the family readiness program; performing correspondence and reports; and experience operating office equipment such as a computer, printer, fax machine, and telephone. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-05).
