Joining the Secret Service, Office of the Chief Information Officer will allow you to develop, implement, and sustain information technology to support the agency's protective and investigative mission. This IT Cybersecurity Specialist (ENTARCH/PLCYPLN)position starts at a salary of $139,395.00 GS-14, step 1 with promotion potential to $181,216.00 GS-14, Step 10.
Duties
The selectee will serve as IT Cybersecurity Specialist (ENTARCH/PLCYPLN) in the Office of the Chief Information Officer. Typical work assignments include:
Oversee the financial, programmatic, technical, and administrative functions of the Data Center.
Write functional specifications to document the architecture development process.
Develop system concepts by translating technology, laws, and regulations into system and security designs and processes.
Create information technology (IT) rules and requirements for baseline and target architecture to perform tasks.
Provide input on the Risk Management Framework process, activities, and related documentation.
Work with leadership to develop strategies, goals, milestones, and organizational objectives to address future operational and/or security needs.
Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate that they meet 4 Information Technology (IT) Competencies AND Minimum Qualification/Specialized Experience requirements as noted below
Basic Requirement: Applicants must demonstrate that they have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
Attention to Detail - Reviewing IT systems and security architecture to ensure cybersecurity objectives are met;
Customer Service - Recommending system enhancements to meet customer needs;
Oral Communication - Interpreting IT policy to communicate guidance to stakeholders; and
Problem Solving - Identifying cybersecurity challenges or problems to develop solutions.
AND
Minimum Qualifications:
You qualify for the GS-14 level (starting salary $139,395.00) if you possess one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-13 level in the Federal Service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
Managing networks, firewalls, hardware, and/or software to maintain the security of information systems;
Analyzing information technology (IT) regulations to determine system(s) compliance with cybersecurity guidelines; and
Applying cyber practices and policies to develop IT security projects/programs.
NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible.
The incumbent must obtain and maintain the appropriate baseline certification (Nutanix Certified Professional, Cohesity Certified, Microsoft Certifications, or Security +) within 6 months.
