This position is located at Departmental Offices, Terrorism and Financial Intelligence-Intelligence Analysis. As a Physical Security Specialist, you will be responsible for physical and industrial security policy and compliance oversight throughout the Treasury Department, including the Departmental Offices (DO) and all bureaus.
Duties
Pursuant to 50 USC 3024 (v), and with concurrence and consultation with the Director of National Intelligence and the Director of the Office of Personnel Management, this position is being established in the excepted service as an element of the Intelligence Community within the Department of the Treasury.
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
As a Physical Security Specialist, you will:
-Draft security policies and procedures, and remain cognizant of and maintain applicable security guides, manuals, directives, regulations and other Treasury and National guidance.
-Implement and ensure compliance with Treasury security policies related to physical and industrial security functions including, but not limited to, the acquisition, installation, construction, or use of security equipment, systems, containers, work areas, or facilities associated with controlling access to and/or safeguarding classified information.
-Oversee compliance with policies and procedures for managing security equipment and security combinations for safeguarding classified information and related records.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, public or other private sectors that is directly related to the position as listed above and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes ALL of the following:
- Experience assessing security programs, identifying findings, and justifying recommendations with measurable ratings; AND
- Experience interpreting and implementing security guidelines and policy; AND
- Experience managing a security program to safeguard security equipment and classified information and records.
For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, public or other private sectors that is directly related to the position as listed above and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes ALL of the following:
- Experience evaluating security conditions as well as assessment findings and making recommendations for program enhancements; AND
- Experience implementing security guidelines and policy based off guidance from senior specialist interpretation; AND
- Experience safeguarding security equipment, classified information, and records.
