You will serve as a Program Analyst (Interagency Coordination Planning Specialist) for the Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience (DR&R), Disaster Policy, Planning, and Partnerships Division (DPP&PD) in Washington, District of Columbia. The position is responsible for ensuring effective planning, operation, evaluation, and communication with DR&R, SBA Field Offices, and SBA's public sector partners.
Duties
As a Program Analyst (Interagency Coordination Planning Specialist) at the GS-0343-13, some of your typical work assignments may include:
Coordinating and maintaining cooperative relationships with the federal interagency.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff in other offices within SBA and with other agencies involved in disaster operations.
Developing new and/or modified campaigns and communication strategies that convey information to various interagency audiences.
Coordinating across SBA to gather background and develop written and visual materials for internal and external audiences about the cycle of disaster declarations, recovery, and mitigation.
Maintaining awareness of policies, procedures, regulations, and legislative actions relevant to the agency's disaster assistance program.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
This is a Permanent position, which is a competitive service status position with a full-time work schedule.
If required to travel to a disaster site, you may encounter hazardous working and/or living conditions, for example, no water or electricity and/or minimal lodging facilities.
A valid driver's license may be required.
Incorporating the 4.7% General Schedule Increase and a locality payment of 33.26% for the locality pay area of Washington DC effective 1/14/2024. SALARY TABLE 2024-DCB (opm.gov).

Qualifications

If qualifying based on related unpaid (e.g. volunteer service) experience, you must provide hours worked per week and beginning/ending dates (mm/yyyy to mm/yyyy).

Experience:

GS-13: To qualify you must have at least 1 full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-12 level in the Federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skill, and ability to perform successfully in this position. This experience may have been gained in a Non-Federal service position. In addition, this Specialized Experience must demonstrate the following:
Knowledge of federal interagency, specifically disaster assistance programs.
Demonstrated experience in communicating with internal and external audiences; and
Experience in developing and implementing policies, procedures, regulations, and/or legislative actions relevant to disaster assistance.
