The primary purpose of this position SUPERVISORY MANPOWER PERSONNEL & SERVICES OPS MGR, NH-0301-3, is to exercise second level supervisory and managerial authorities over the Operations Section of the Force Support Squadron (FSS), which includes unit training, readiness, and plans functions.
Duties
Provides support to management in planning, organizing, and overseeing the activities of the force Support Squadron (FSS) with direct oversight of unit training, readiness, and plans functions.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Represents the FSS with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Establishes, defines, and implements requirements for operations programs to ensure services and functions are in line with organizational goals and mission requirements.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- Employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include evenings and weekends and may be subject to recall.
- The work requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
- Mobility ls a condition of employment. The employee must sign an Air Force-wide mobility agreement.
- Due to possibility of standing for extended periods, walking over uneven terrain, lifting/moving heavy objects up to 50 lbs or greater for the Mortuary and Search and Recovery Operations that fall under this position.

- This is a Centrally Managed position under the U-Force Support Career Field.
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is described as: analytical ability, judgment, discretion, and knowledge of a substantial body of training, readiness, and plans program principles, concepts, policies, and objectives; Establish, revise, or review policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff, as necessary to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement quality improvements, or in response to concern, with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements; knowledge of technical and administrative supervisory and position management responsibilities; ability to direct work activities, set and adjust goals and priorities; ability to guide employees by providing advice, accountability, and expertise on a continuous basis; skill in team building to facilitate various activities and gain consensus; ability to improve processes and maximize mission accomplishment through efficient manpower resource utilization. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of manpower, personnel, education, family & readiness, instructional systems and/or services operations, directives, programs, and procedures.
2. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Knowledge of financial, budget, and resource management practices and principles.
4. Skill in gathering, assembling, and analyzing data/facts, developing conclusions, identifying trends, developing alternatives/solutions, and making recommendations to resolve problems.
5. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate; and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
