This position provides a variety of clerical and administrative functions in support of fire management activities. Such as, producing a variety of written documents using various software, operating a variety of office machines, tracking correspondence, filing documents, maintaining records, time and attendance reports, and preparing travel authorizations and vouchers.
Duties
The incumbent provides administrative support for the Northern Great Plains Fire Management Office located at Wind Cave National Park. The incumbent prepares travel authorizations and vouchers, makes travel arrangements, utilizes computers and software to develop various materials and documents, utilizes the Federal personnel/Payroll System to input records electronically, and uses fire computer applications for data collection and input. The incumbent efficiently administers office filing system. The incumbent also assists in a variety of administrative, operational, and technical functions in support of fire management activities, including firefighter timekeeping, procurement procedures, fire qualifications, and daily office correspondence. The incumbent may operate radio communication equipment and assist in incident dispatching.

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.
SELECTIVE FACTOR: This position performs clerical duties, and the ability to type 40 words per minute is required. Candidates who do not meet this requirement by close of this announcement will receive no further consideration for this position.

To qualify for this position at the GS-04 grade level, you must possess at least one or all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: Possess at least one (1) year of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of this position. Examples of general experience include, but are not limited to, preparing letters and memos, operating a variety of office equipment, answering telephones, and greeting visitors, disseminating information, providing information, etc. Keeps time and attendance reports. Assist with budget needs. You must include hours per week worked.

EDUCATION: Have two (2) years of successfully completed education above high school (60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours). This education was obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college, or university.

COMBINATION: Have an equivalent combination of education and experience. For example, six (6) months of the general experience described above (50% of the experience requirement), and one (1) year of college study from an accredited institution (50% of the qualifying education) as specified above, equals 100% of the total requirement. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an
accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
If you are using
education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
