About the Position: This position is located with U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, at Fort Drum, NY.

Duties

Ensure that all required logistics reports and documentation are prepared and/or submitted, as required with the Battalion S4. Determine and develop requirements for a variety of logistics functions, including development of new logistics policies and procedures. Provides technical guidance and direction in the areas of supply management, transportation, supply issues, hand receipt management, equipment maintenance, Global Combat Support System - Army (GCSS-A), acquisition tracking, etc. Participates in special projects focused on the resolution of complex or unique automated supply system problems. Recommends actions or changes to policy to achieve improved supply readiness of supported units.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
  • Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 25% of the time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Government Credit Card (GPC).
  • This position requires the incumbent to work Army Power Projection Platform (AP3) Operations utilizing a skill that is classified no higher than the current grade. Work may involve shift work, weekends, or holidays.
  • Weather Essential, may be required to report during inclement weather events to prepare facilities for reopening.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience such as: 1) Performing a wide range of logistics administrative duties; 2) Advising on logistics information system matters; 3) Providing guidance on supply and work order processes; 4) Monitoring purchase requests for the organization; and 5) Preparing reports for logistical briefings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Logistics, Advanced Supply Chain Management, Business Law, and Service Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer ResourcesProduct Support ManagementSupply SupportTechnical Data Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
