As a Energy Management and Marketing Specialist, you will be responsible for providing energy management and marketing services for generation resources assigned to the Energy Management and Marketing Office (EMMO). **This is not a remote position. The selectee will be required to be physically present in Montrose, CO.**

Duties

The Energy Management and Marketing Specialist (EMMS) is responsible for the on-shift management of loads and resources, and marketing of resources assigned to the regional/CRSP Energy Management and Marketing Office (EMMO) that may include customer account portfolios. The incumbent is responsible for power scheduling, energy accounting, reporting and statistical information requests. The incumbent is also responsible for having a thorough working knowledge of all national, regional, and/or organized market interchange scheduling criteria and actions tobe taken to comply with these criteria.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: For the AD-2 Level To qualify for the AD-2 level applicants must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the next lower grade level (AD-1 or GS-5/7) in the federal service. Specialized experience at the AD-2 level for this position is defined as: Ability to describe what an e/energy-tag is Ability to describe the OASIS system Ability to communicate with customers Ability to analyze data Ability to provide innovative solutions to issues Ability to describe a bilateral market and RTO For the AD-3 Level To qualify for the AD-3 level applicants must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the next lower grade level (AD-2 or GS-7/9) in the federal service. Specialized experience at the AD-3 level for this position is defined as: Ability to describe what an energy/e-tag is, plus the ability to describe all the components of an energy/e-tag Ability to describe OASIS system and how to purchase transmission Ability to describe an outage and transmission constraint Ability to use SCADA and marketing software Ability to coordinate with customers Ability to independently react to emerging issues Ability to describe how real-time issues can effect bilateral markets and schedules For the AD-4 Level To qualify for the AD-4 level applicants must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the next lower grade level (AD-3 or GS-11) in the federal service. Specialized experience at the AD-4 level for this position is defined as: Ability to describe source/sink and transmission paths Ability to independently generate new tag/transactions Ability to develop procedures, identify alternative transmission paths Ability to train staff in the use of marketing software Ability to coordinate with internal and external customers Ability to make decisions in real-time in the absence of supervisory staff Ability to analyze complex data and make decisions in real-time Ability to describe the implications of a transition to an RTO/market Has Journeyman level experience as a real-time marketer "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
