Duties

Work directly for Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC) S3 as the Joint Operations Center (JOC) Chief of Operations (CHOPS). Provide tactical and scenario updates directly to the Commander of Operations Group (COG), the Deputy Commander of Operations Group (DCOG), the Operations Group S3, Team 07’s and the Commanding General of the rotational training unit. Develop doctrinally correct Joint Task Force level plans and Mission Orders that integrate Rotational Unit training objectives, Senior Trainer guidance, Army Doctrinal Publications, regional trends, and emerging joint doctrine. Daily updates Unit’s Senior Trainer, Division Deputy Commanding General-Operations, Allied and Partner Nations Generals, and the Commander of Operations Group on DTACs progress, issues and concerns. Develop, provide, and coordinate the scripts, roles and instructions for all role players for each rotation and scenario. Analyze and evaluate issues that are typically diverse in nature and extrapolates existing methods and procedures for future requirements in developing timely and executable plans of action.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a "Secret" security clearance for the duration of employment.
  • During rotational exercises, the employee is required to work a flexible duty hours which includes - weekends, holidays, and shift work consistent of 10-12 hours days for an extended 2-week period.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) may be required up to 50% of the time.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 25lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing plans and operations of Rotational Exercise Control (EXCON) and Higher Unit Control (HICON); analyzing scenarios specifying joint and service specific training objectives and Mission Essential Task List of each task force and unit; developing detailed plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to achieve the goals and objectives of the operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Organizational Performance AnalysisPlanning and EvaluatingWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
