The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.
Functions as an expert in clerical transactions, performing a full range of standard and non-standard clerical and technical assistance to support Tax Analysts, Lead Tax Analysts, Supervisory Management, and Program Analyst IR-5. This includes the sorting/delivery of mail, filing documents, and ordering office supplies for the field office. Incumbent sends standard correspondence through the mail and reviews all outgoing reports and correspondence for grammatical accuracy. Incumbent handles all aspects of clerical work in an office setting for higher graded employees.
Maintains administrative calendars for Tax Analysts, Lead Tax Analysts, and Supervisory Management. Transcribes documents from handwritten notes into proper format with responsibility for procedural and grammatical accuracy, factual correctness, and adequacy of treatment. Establishes meetings and creates meeting agendas as well as recording meeting minutes.
Reviewing time and attendance on TAPS/SETR. Incumbent responsible for performing time and attendance and addressing time and attendance issues for higher graded employees.
Qualifications
Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:GS-5 Level: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:Experience that is related to the work of this position and has provided you with the competencies required for successful job performance. Examples of specialized experience include: providing telephone and receptionist services; Maintaining records; Requisitioning office supplies; Filing material and maintaining office filing system; Receiving and controlling incoming and outgoing correspondence and reports for format, grammar, and punctuation; Writing simple or repetitive, non technical correspondence such as letters of acknowledgment; Scheduling appointments and preparing notes regarding topics to be discussed; Ability to operate a variety of office hardware and software systems and knowledge and skill applying grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
