Duties
Serves as a senior economist to the CHIPS Research and Development Office (CRDO) Director of Integration and Policy. As senior economist the applicant will:
Be responsible for comprehensively evaluating the economic impact of CHIPS Research and Development Office (CRDO) programs by designing and implementing economic impact metrics and models.
Regularly conducts economic evaluation with an emphasis on domestic innovation and technology adoption; workforce and jobs growth; technology market capture; research and development spillover effects; and other areas of economic and market health of interest to CRDO stakeholders.
Independently collects data, conducts economic trend analysis related to the semiconductor industry and advising senior management on economic impact optimization strategies.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
Degree: economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus.
or
Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
In addition to the basic requirements, applicants must have 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 (ZP-III at NIST) level serving as an expert on a full range of complex issues dealing with economic impact and economic trends related to administrative and operational activities to include the following:
Experience in innovation, industrial organization, technology, entrepreneurship, economic competitiveness, or related fields;
In-depth knowledge of data collection, methodologies, and assessment of economic impact of government programs; and
Knowledge of research and development programs.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.
