You will serve as a Electronics Integrated Systems Mechanic in the Ship Control Interior Communication Systems Repair Shop (51C), Electronic Repair Division (TRF-730), Weapins Repair Department (TRF-700) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.

Duties

You will adjust equipment (e.g., voltmeters, ohmmeters, field strength meters) to verify optimal working order. You will coordinate repairs, modifications, testing, and alignments with other shop personnel and trades to achieve correct interfacing with other systems and subsystems. You will diagnose electronic systems malfunctions and trace through numerous units to locate and correct deficiencies. You will follow drawings for integrated electronic systems to determine needed repairs for malfunctions in the systems. You will certify the accuracy of tests and measurements on electronic integrated systems. You will verify test equipment (e.g., voltmeters, ohmmeters, field strength meters) are in correct working order prior to use. You will check electronic characteristics and values of circuits and component parts. You will integrate operable subsystems into a complete functional integrated system. You will coordinate with assist trades or shops for scheduling or completion of work. You will collaborate with management personnel to resolve work problems related to electronic integrated systems operations. You will use hand and power tools in the repair, installation, assembly, and disassembly of electronic integrated systems.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current IT Level II certification.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Utilizing measuring and/or testing equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, and signal generators for the repair of ship/submarine systems; repairing ships/submarines to meet production goals and organization's mission; and repairing, overhauling, rebuilding, modifying, mating, aligning, calibrating and/or integrating all operable subsystems into a complete functional integrated system. Monitoring interrelated subsystems and recommending units for overhaul and replacement. Performing diagnostic checks and routines.
