About the Position: This position is located at Naval Medical Center, San Diego, California.

Duties

Serves as Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for the department. Manage the budgetary, fiscal, and material management systems of the Facilities Management Department. Determines the total budgetary requirements to support the assigned facilities operations. Assist the Command Information Security Officer (ISO) in implementing and maintaining a comprehensive ADP Security Program for the department. Maintain the department’s inventory of microcomputer equipment, software, and supplies. Evaluates performance and gives advice, counsel or instruction to individual employees on both work and administrative matters. Prepares schedules for completion of work; makes work assignments based on priorities.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Position requires incumbent to travel up to 5% of the time.
  • This position is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations. Applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.

I have one year of Specialized experience which includes maintain schedules, files and records related to the maintenance and repair of a medical facility; analyze and evaluate data for the purpose of making recommendations for improvement in the hospital's Space Management program; advise in the practical and/or technical aspects of office administration such as, budgeting, purchasing, supply management, and/or data processing. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementComputer LiteracyKnowledge Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
