This is a pivotal position, where the incumbent is responsible for representing the medical center to Veterans, patients, family members of Veterans, and other medical center providers both at the VA and in the community. The incumbent maintains the administrative functions of the Connected Care Program and assists the Connected Care Facility Manager/Facility Telehealth Coordinator/Nurse Manager with duties as assigned.
Duties
Duties include but not limited to the following:
Maintains calendar of appointments for meetings, conference calls and other various scheduled activities.
Prepare travel requests, schedule conferences, coordinate meetings, and takes minutes of various meetings pertaining to the Connected Care Program or any future assignments or projects.
Submits requests for purchase of supplies that are required for the daily function.
Develops, promotes, and maintains effective communications with other services to enhance a mutual understanding and acceptance of responsibilities.
Performs typing and filing, prepares materials for publication such as pamphlets, certificates, forms, graphs, technical manuals or comparable items.
Assists with any proposals/projects that are implemented by the assigned supervisor.
Reviews outgoing correspondence and reports prepared by the staff under the auspices of the supervisor, as well as miscellaneous correspondence which is routed through the office before being sent to Associate Director, Deputy Director, etc., ensuring proper format, grammar, accuracy and completeness.
Takes minutes at various meetings and transcribes minutes in prescribed format for review/approval by meeting facilitator and distributes to appropriate staff.
Input of required data into telehealth programs utilizing various VHA databases within and outside the facility.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/17/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: performing clerical/administrative duties in an office environment; taking and transcribing minutes at various meetings; preparing materials for publication; inputting data into telehealth programs utilizing various VHA databases; and using a computer to perform a variety of support tasks. At this grade level, applicants should have good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to perform assignments independently with minimal oversight. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-5) in the Federal service.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary, but also demands some standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying
of, clinical folders, forms, and miscellaneous supplies to various locations within the medical facility.
