You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the FLEET TECHNICAL SUPPORT DIVISION, ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
Duties
You will provide technical support services for shipboard Submarine Combat Control Systems, subsystems, and associated electronic weapon launch systems and interfaces to other dependent systems.
You will provide Fleet Technical Assistance to Pacific Fleet ships operating in the Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean, Persian Gulf and other locations for these systems as assigned.
You will serve as Test Coordinator/Team Leader of teams of not less than five GS-11 subordinates or contractor equivalents with responsibility for function check-out, test and inspection of major systems.
You will represent COMPACFLT/Naval Sea Systems Command in the inspection and functional checkout/demonstration of major shipboard systems for INSURVPAC material inspections, Final Contract trials, and C5RA's.
You will work with technical teams to resolve major deficiencies in operation, maintenance or logistics support of assigned systems.
You will participate in the installation of SHIPALTs and Engineering Changes including hands-on modification of components, quality assurance of contractors and ship's force work.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position requires work onboard ships.
Qualifications
I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-11 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector advising and providing technical guidance for the testing, repair, fault isolation, and maintenance of advanced submarine Combat Control systems.
I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-10 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assessing technical performance and making repairs to Combat Control suite and interfacing submarine systems.
