Employee will serve as an Information Receptionist (Office Automation) located in the Spinal Cord Injury/Disorder Service at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Hines, IL.
Duties
***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION***
Duties will include, but may not be limited to the following:
Serves as a receptionist, triaging telephonic and in-person inquiries of visitors, patients, and staff, and receives, sorts, and distributes mail/deliveries..
Generates, disseminates, and archives narrative-based and data-driven electronic documents and reports and provides staffing (physical and virtual) support.
Aids in the procurement of space, time, resources, and note taking for meetings.
Serves as liaison for customer service requests from Information Resources Management, Nursing, Logistics, Facilities Management Service, Environmental Management Service, etc.
Submits information technology requests, work orders, and electronic correspondence to meet the needs of the services.
Supports various computerized systems, to include education, travel, employee time and attendance, patient transportation services, etc.
Performs other duties as necessary.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, applicants must possess at least one of the following minimum requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Possess one full year of general experience defined as progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
-OR-
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): Successfully completed 2 years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite.
-OR-
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): Possess equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education (in excess of one year) combined with general experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
AND
TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.

Physical Requirements: Work is primarily performed in an office setting, but may require repetitive and extensive periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, sitting, and light carrying of records and supplies.
