This position is located in the Spinal Cord Injury/Disorder Service at the Edward Hines Jr, VA Medical Center. The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support.
Duties
Major Duties to include, but not limited to:
- Serve as a receptionist.
- Responsible for triaging telephonic and in-person inquires of visitors, patients and staff.
- Maintain and distribute service-level workload schedules and employee contact information.
- Generate, disseminate and archive narrative-based and data-driven electronic documents and reports.
- Perform staffing (physical and virtual) support as required, and aid in the procurement of space; time, resources and note taking for service level meetings.
- Support the services education and travel systems.
- Serve as liaison for employee identification sponsorship.
- Coordinate patient transportation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Serves as alternate time-keeper in VATAS System
- Orders Office Supplies for the service
-Initiates and tracks service work order, maintains work order log book.
-Provides administrative coverage.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

GS-4 Level Grade Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Must have one year of general experience. GENERAL EXPERIENCE is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of this position being filled.
OR
EDUCATION: Must have successfully completed at least two years of education above the high school level. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED
OR
COMBINATION: Must have successfully completed equivalent combinations of post-high school education and experience as described above.

TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the ability to type 40 WPM.
